IS REFINED SUGAR CAUSE OF DISEASE?

Sugar is a simple carbohydrate, which body converts into glucose and uses for energy!
There are two types of sugar one is NATURAL and the other is REFINED. The effects of this sugar on our body and overall health depends on which type of sugar we intake.

NATURAL SUGAR

Natural sugar, sugar safe to eat

These types of sugar are found in fruits as fructose and in dairy products, such as milk cheese and lactose. This type of sugar is safe to consume. Natural Sugar also has an important role to keep the body healthy and it helps prevent disease.

REFINED SUGAR

Refined sugar, sugar not to eat

These types of sugar come from sugar cane or sugar beets, which are processed to extract the sugar. It is typically found as sucrose, which is the combination of glucose and fructose. Brown and white sugar is an example of Refined Sugar.

DOES BODY METABOLIZES BOTH NATURAL AND REFINED SUGAR IN SAME WAY??
No!
The body breaks down refined sugar rapidly, which causes insulin and blood sugar levels to increase rapidly. This isn't in case of natural sugar.

Refined sugar consumption has increased the obesity rate which in turn may cause certain cancer diseases. Also, refined sugar is linked to diabetes and heart diseases.
Research says that even one teaspoon of sugar can bring down your immune system by 50 percent for the next two to three hours! In this time span, any disease is possible to happen to the body. I think this reason is good enough for you to avoid refined sugar.

Natural sugar intake may reduce cancer risk, also fiber in fruits skin suppresses your appetite to prevent overeating and weight gain.

Substitute for refined sugar

1) JAGGERY
Jaggery is a good substitute for Refined sugar. In ancient times people used jaggery for food sweetening purposes. Also, jaggery contains antioxidants such as zinc, selenium, Vitamin B, Iron, protein, and calcium, which is overall good for our health. The main thing is it does not affect your immune system at all. Jaggery also improves the digestion system in our body. It flushes out toxins.

2) COCONUT SUGAR
Coconut sugar is a second-best option for refined sugar. It contains potassium, magnesium, and sodium which are all essential for our body. It also contains minerals like iron, zinc, and calcium. Nitrogen in it is good for cardiovascular health. While Vitamin C in it will boost your immune system. Also, coconut sugar does not harm our immune system.

3) HONEY
Honey has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is a good source of antioxidants. It helps improve digestion issues and heal wounds. It aids weight loss. Minerals and vitamins contained in it make it more consumable. Honey also boosts immunity.

Slowly start reducing intake of Refined sugar, as it is not possible to give up on it in one day. If you start using a substitute for Refined sugar that will also be helpful to avoid Refined sugar.
