WHAT YOU RESIST, PERSIST, AND WHAT YOU EMBRACE, DISSOLVES!

What you resist, persist, what you embrace, dissloves

All of us at some point of time have definitely experienced that whatever we resist not only persists, but it grows in size.

Whenever we don't want something to happen, we resist that in our minds. But actually, deep down, we are making that resistance concrete in our mind, creating space for that resistance. When we resist something, we are constantly thinking about it in our minds, and whatever we think creates space in our minds.

WHAT YOU RESIST, PERSIST!

To make this more clear let us do one small experiment.
1]Close your eyes, and relax.
2]Then don't think about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
3]Keep your eyes close for a few minutes.
4]Then open your eyes

So what happened when you closed your eyes and told your mind to not think about coronavirus pandemic??
For almost all of us, after hearing that, we should not think about coronavirus, the very first thought was of a coronavirus itself. This is what happens when we resist something in our minds.

So to come out of this pattern, start embracing the things you resist!
Once you start embracing the things, it won't give you pain. For example, during mediation, you don't want any thought to disturb you, so you resist it and end up having more and more thoughts. So first thing let thoughts come, you welcome everything. Once you start doing this, fewer thoughts will appear and after practicing this it will eventually stop. You just be witness to all this happening here and let thoughts flow through your mind.

WHAT YOU EMBRACE, DISSOLVES!

All the suffering and pain is because of the non-acceptance of what is! We suffer because we want things to be our way. And if things are not our way we suffer and start resisting it. This resistance causes more and more suffering.

If we try to understand our minds, then we will come to know that, whatever resistance we have is because we have created it. This resistance is created by our own minds because of past experience or by listening to others' experiences.

Here, I am not trying to tell you that never keep experience in mind or don't listen to others' experiences, but you should have that sensibility, where you should remember your or others' experience and where you should not! where you need to apply your knowledge of experience and where not to apply!

For example, Consider someday you had any rotten fruit, so here you need to keep in mind your experience of having rotten fruits. You should not forget this experience, every time you can't have the rotten fruits. Once you know what is bad, you should avoid that! But while meditating, the first time you had some thoughts, so you should not consider that, you will always have thoughts going in mind during mediation. Here you simply need to start fresh every time.

What you resist, persist, what you embrace dissolves!

If you stop resisting things and start embracing it, then you will be happy and have a peaceful mind!
